Types of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and normally use particular guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks include Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common kinds in compact retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks could operate within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models like for example Reach Trucks. They are commonly used within warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is large and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and hence more productive while limiting exhaustion.
