Types of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
Construction lifts are the machines used to allow workers to locate high-up locations without constructing any scaffolding. They are utilized to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common equipment found in factory and warehouse environment as well.

Typically, construction lifts provide wheeled and powered bases which are capable of driving to the work location and have a platform on them that is responsible for lifting workers. There are lots of various types of lifts and each one is suitable to various types of jobs and environment.

Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks, that are often known as "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom that has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where a worker can stand. Usually, bucket trucks are utilized by utility workers and by landscapers. Landscapers often use these kinds of machines to cut trees.

Each bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a standard truck, that allows these vehicles to move fast on regular roads. In addition, this increases the area which this machine can service effectively. This is especially vital for power companies. Like for instance, a lot of these companies use cherry pickers to raise workers up so they can work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets must be regularly inspected and properly insulated since they are working close to possible shock hazards.

Knuckle lifts or articulated boom lifts include a work platform mounted to an arm which could bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.

Normally, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also useful for maintenance work on projects that are already finished. Projects that do not need easy access right below the jobsite. These lifts can be used for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, and areas that are difficult to clean. Normally knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the boom extended.
