Hazards of Type-G lift trucks
Forklifts carry out an important role in the operations of warehouses and other businesses. These machines are capable of lifting and moving huge loads from one location to another. There are several variations on the forklift. The primary variation is the way in which various units are fueled. "LP" forklifts are the most popular type. They utilize liquid propane. Type "E" lift trucks run on electricity and have large rechargeable batteries. Type "D" lift trucks utilize diesel and type "G" utilize gasoline. While all kinds of forklifts, similar to any piece of heavy machinery, can pose a hazard, the type of lift trucks that are powered by gasoline pose the most risks.

Fire
Type G lift trucks can present a fire hazard. Gasoline-powered forklifts are not held to rigorous standards in reducing lessening fire hazards. The biggest cause of fire is due to gasoline leaks that allow gasoline fumes to escape. This could result from normal wear and from accidents or driving on extremely rough terrain. These circumstances pose a risk and can cause fire. Hence, a standard Type G forklift should never be utilized in conditions where elevated fire risk is deemed unacceptable. Like for instance, these types of forklifts must not be utilized around explosives or dangerous chemicals.

Explosion
Gas lift trucks also pose a danger of explosion, as do diesel and liquid propane based lift trucks. A gasoline fueled forklift could explode as a result of a serious accident in circumstances where an ignition source and a gasoline leak are both present. An explosion could take place when sparks are created in the collision and the sparks ignite the gasoline.

Fumes and Exhaust
Type G forklifts pose a serious inhalation hazard due to poisonous fumes. Gasoline fumes could be deadly in high concentrations. Fumes can result from gasoline leaks or from the exhaust itself. Therefore, a Type G lift truck is really not suggested for any environment that is poorly ventilated. The exhaust would present a serious danger in enclosed spaces. This particular type of lift truck should be used carefully when operated in close proximity to individuals.
