Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Thousand Oaks

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You can often find pneumatic forklifts in warehouses and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to move supplies and things around on wooden pallets using metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single person.

Pallet trucks must be operated carefully in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Equipment must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make certain that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be stacked carefully in order to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level located on the inside of the metal loop to be able to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be centered to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you because the thrust can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
